Ali Harlin

Ali Harlin is a member of the UB FIGG advisory board. He has held the position since the founding of the Fund. 

Experience

Ali is a distinguished academic in the biomaterial industry and a leading contributor to global biomaterial knowhow and innovation. In addition to his position at the UB FIGG advisory board, Ali works as a research professor at the Technical Research Centre of Finland and is one of the founders and inventor behind Infinited Fiber. His prior experience includes working as a professor of fibre materials at the Tampere University of Technology and Research Area Director (packaging materials) at KCL. Additionally, Ali holds several advisory positions in new material startups and has been awarded by Finnish Forest Association and Paper Engineers Finland for his work in the field. 

Ali holds a D.Sc. in Polymer Science from Helsinki University of Technology, as well as the titles of Docent of Packaging Materials from Lappeenranta University of Technology and Docent of Technical Textiles from Tampere University of Technology.
